The Espinosa Comfortably Numb Vol. 2 is where the series begins to show some muscle. Rather than simply tweaking the original blend, Espinosa went in a decidedly stronger direction, building Vol. 2 around a Corojo Ligero wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and a combination of Nicaraguan and Honduran ligero fillers. It's a much more assertive tobacco recipe than Vol. 1 and one that experienced smokers will recognize as serious business before getting very far into the cigar.
Ligero brings strength, but good ligero should bring flavor as well, and that's the more interesting part of Vol. 2. The Corojo keeps the cigar aromatic and spicy while the heavier interior tobacco supplies the depth. Cedar, red pepper and toasted tobacco form the center of the profile, with an earthy richness developing underneath. It's medium-to-full and noticeably more forceful than Vol. 1 without becoming simply a nicotine delivery system.
This is the Comfortably Numb for the smoker who likes Corojo and isn't afraid of ligero. Give it some time, smoke it at a measured pace and let the tobacco do the work. For anyone who finds Vol. 1 a little too polite, Vol. 2 is where the volume gets turned up.
