Jack Daniel’s just uncaged a monster from their oldest rafters. Perched high above the Lynchburg campus, Barrel House 1 on Tanyard Hill subjects barrels to vicious temperature swings. These brutal climatic shifts forcefully drive the whiskey deep into the charred American white oak, extracting an absolutely unprecedented, massive density of rich flavor. The resulting liquid is phenomenal! Extreme evaporation ruthlessly claimed nearly seventy percent of the total volume. Only about 175 barrels survived the devastating angels' share to create this 2025 release.
Charcoal mellowing usually strips the aggression out of Tennessee whiskey, but this specific high-proof rye plays by entirely different, incredibly unyielding rules. Master Distiller Chris Fletcher slashed the Lincoln County Process to a mere fraction of its usual duration. The rye grain takes absolute command. It boasts a muscular backbone derived from a mashbill of seventy percent rye, eighteen percent corn, and twelve percent malted barley. You simply cannot ignore the sheer concentration of this uncut distillate! Bottled at genuine hazmat-level barrel proof, the viscous liquid practically demands your undivided attention.
Expect a sensory barrage rather than a gentle sip. Dark cherry syrup dominates the initial encounter, fiercely supported by shaved dark chocolate and an absolute cascade of heavy baking spices. Years spent baking in the top floors forged a deep, resonant oak profile that anchors the volatile proof. This fiery dram absolutely commands respect! Every single drop showcases the wildest, most untamed extreme of Lynchburg craftsmanship. Pouring this unadulterated whiskey feels like an audacious, thrilling event all on its own.
- Matured in Barrel House 1 atop Tanyard Hill for nearly a decade
